Even when the firing ceases and the war is over, most veterans take it back home with them and live with it for the rest of their lives. This especially applies to those who have suffered an injury there. Much information about war conflicts is kept secret so that no shocking facts come to the surface. However, it should be remembered that war is the last way how disagreements should be resolved. Photographers David Jay and James Nachtwey dedicate their work to documenting young wounded soldiers returning from wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. These photographs are not for the faint of heart, but the world needs to see the war consequences. Reality is not always what we would like to see or what the media are showing to us. Quite contrary, the truth looks like this:
