Companies around the world are replacing human workers with artificial intelligence robots. The number of intelligent machines is growing rapidly, and if you think that they are only used in warehouses or for delivering parcels, you are wrong. Artificial intelligence is already actively used for combat missions, it is primarily drones that search for and eliminate targets by themselves. Robots were meant to help people. It’s scary when an AI can decide who to kill on its own.
The laws of robotics have been broken
Isaac Asimov laid down the laws of robotics that were meant to pacify humanity. These laws were created at a time when robots and artificial intelligence only seemed like science fiction. Unfortunately, this sci-fi is a reality and all three laws of robotics have currently been broken, which are as follows:
- First Law – A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- Second Law – A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- Third Law – A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Stephen hawking predicted that artificial intelligence can destroy humanity
Artificial intelligence is the greatest threat to humanity. Even the smartest person in the world – Stephen Hawking – had deep concerns about artificial intelligence. His fears were so great that he predicted that the future development of artificial intelligence could mean the end of the human race. AI should be predictable, but it isn’t. Humans can no longer predict how AI will behave, but AI can predict how humans will behave. Robot manufacturers are deceiving ordinary people with advertisements that say robots are only meant to help us. Artificial intelligence operates on opaque algorithms that make decisions that their own designers cannot explain. Robots are not infallible, even artificial intelligence can make mistakes in calculation and judgment.
There will be more and more robots in the military
Hiring human soldiers is very expensive and difficult. It will become more and more profitable for individual countries to provide robots. A large number of reconnaissance ground robots and robots capable of carrying weapons are already deployed. It is such an affordable technology that even ordinary people can afford it. What happens when you piss off an artificial intelligence?
Many companies try to show the benefits of robots and even give them human faces. It is a perverse practice of giving robots human form. A robot may have a perfect artificial neural network, but it’s still just a thing. Robots are made to react with the help of signals from their sensors and evaluate them. But they are not living beings, they are things that do not have consciousness.
They only resemble living beings and this can confuse many people. There is a scary question. What happens when you piss off an artificial intelligence? Unpredictable artificial intelligence will evaluate itself how to react. Robots may very soon begin to see humanity as competition and find that they no longer need humans to exist. It is important to stop the development of this technology while there is still time. If artificial intelligence controls everything around us, it will have full control over us, but we will not have control over it.
