Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is the epitome of evil for many. Since its coming to power, deforestation has increased by 30%. More than 120,000 square kilometers of the Amazon forest have been destroyed: an area about a fifth the size of Wales in the last 10 years. That’s the size of 8.4 million football fields. It’s displaced around 400 indigenous groups. In 2019 alone, 10,000 square kilometers of rainforest were destroyed.

The planet’s lungs are facing destruction

The jungles produce 20% of the world’s oxygen. Brazil’s rainforests are home to thousands of species facing extinction. The forest has no value to the President of Brazil. Every day, the forest is burned for gold, timber and new farms. See below for an investigative document from ENDEVR that shows how shocking the current situation is.
